Nectar Cloud is a fully managed, monitored online backup system that removes your day-to-day administration of backups, along with associated hardware and media costs. We monitor your backups, daily, for problems or missed backups – and, using our backup logs, can often spot potential issues on your network. Nectar Cloud uses one of the world’s few online backup providers that is ISO-certified and provides you with the security and peace of mind you need to outsource our most critical backup operations.
Our engineers and/or customer-service representatives (CSRs) install and configure service remotely (using Teamviewer). We will install the product on your machine(s) and configure the software to suit your requirements.

Nectar Cloud Online Backup will save the last 3 months of deleted items or longer should you need it. We are happy to discuss your requirements with normal tape backups you will only get retention of two weeks with a 10 tape rotation policy.
Yes. You can set Nectar Cloud to back up as often as you wish.
We will install the backup software on your computer(s) and configure it to run. After the initial backup, data is de-duplicated so that only new or changed data is then backed up. So, Nectar Cloud uses minimal broadband resources and very little CPU speed.

No, all you need is a computer or server and broadband. We will install the software on to your computer(s) and configure it to run. There is no additional hardware needed.
Our technical staff monitors and manages the entire backup process. If a backup is missed, error occurs or there is unusual activity; we alert you (if necessary) and solve the backup problem (T & C applies). You can also log in to your Nectar Cloud account and view a history of each day’s backup report, to see that the service is working.
Before your data is taken offsite, it is encrypted to 256-bit level. This level of security equals or exceeds that used by most financial institutions. Once this is done, your data is unreadable by anyone. The client alone holds the decryption key and is the only one who can decode the information. The data is then sent via a secure network to our data center and is always stored in encrypted format on our platform.
Encryption translates data into a secret code, the most effective way to secure your data. Then to read the data, you must have a key or password to decrypt it. Only you have the code; not even Nectar Cloud technical staff, or anybody else, has access to the code.
The code is stored only by the client. If this code is lost or misplaced, all of the data stored in the data centre is lost. So make sure that the encryption key you use is memorable.
The initial backup of your data can take days, if you need to upload a large amount of data we will send out a drive for an initial seed load to speed up the setup process. This service is known as ‘Data Shuttle’.
The backup is scheduled at a time that suits you and your staff and involves no interruption to your office. Once this initial backup is complete, each subsequent backup is done on an incremental basis. This means that prior to each backup taking place, your data is analysed and only the data that has changed or been updated will be backed up. This makes the process faster and smoother for the end user.
Online data backups are fully – and automatically – stored, managed, and monitored in secure offsite data centers in the UK and Ireland (i.e., primary centres, then mirrored to secondary centers),by specially trained engineers who are on call specifically for your company. Your business data are covered by the data protection act and does not come within the remit of the patriot act

Nectar Cloud absolutely supports file versioning. We have a flexible retention policy that can be adjusted as necessary from days, to months to years. Files that have been previously deleted or older versions of files can be restored in a matter of minutes. You set the retention period for as long as you choose to store the file. Our system allows files and databases to be rolled back to a previous point in time when they were known to be working.
